Power and Performance

The Colt Defender fires .177 caliber steel BBs at velocities up to 410 feet per second . The energy output measures less than 3.0 joules, providing consistent performance for target practice and recreational shooting . The pistol operates on a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge housed conveniently in the grip . With a shot capacity of approximately 165 rounds per CO2 cartridge, you can enjoy extended shooting sessions without frequent cartridge changes . Users consistently praise the Defender’s CO2 efficiency, with one reviewer noting they achieved 150 shots or more on a warm day without significant power loss .

16-Shot Magazine and Rapid Fire

The Defender features a built-in 16-shot internal magazine, allowing for extended shooting sessions . The spring-powered grip release makes magazine loading straightforward and user-friendly . The BB follower includes a convenient catch to keep it open during loading, and the fill port features a small funnel that makes refills fast and easy . The double-action-only trigger mechanism enables rapid firing capability, making this pistol ideal for plinking and reactive target shooting . You can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger without frequent reloading interruptions.

Customization and Accessory Rail

An integrated Weaver/Picatinny rail under the muzzle allows for attachment of tactical accessories such as lights or lasers . This customization capability enhances the pistol’s versatility for training scenarios or nighttime plinking sessions. The fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight ensure quick target acquisition in various lighting conditions . The combination of accessory rail and quality sights makes the Defender adaptable to different shooting preferences and environments.

Compact Design and Safety Features

The compact 6.75-inch overall length makes the Defender easy to handle and store . The manual sliding safety prevents accidental firing, providing peace of mind during handling and storage . The CO2 compartment in the grip allows for easy cartridge changes without requiring special tools . Some users appreciate that the Defender lacks blowback action, which contributes to its exceptional CO2 efficiency and reliable operation . This straightforward design makes the pistol accessible for shooters of all experience levels.
