TPP .457 155gr Slugs

Precision Engineering for Demanding Shooters

The Texoma Precision Pellet Hollow Skirt Ball in .457 caliber represents the pinnacle of big bore ammunition design. We at Nordic Airguns are proud to offer this exceptional slug to our discerning customers. Weighing 155 grains, this projectile is specifically developed for demanding PCP shooters who refuse to compromise between power and precision. Whether you hunt large game or compete in long-range events, this slug delivers consistent, devastating performance. Its premium lead construction and clever engineering make it the ultimate choice for big bore enthusiasts.

Superior Ballistic Design Delivers Maximum Impact

The TPP Hollow Skirt Ball stands out due to its intelligent design, which combines the best attributes of a slug and a pellet. The hollow skirt ensures a perfect, airtight seal in the barrel upon firing, and this seal maximizes the efficiency of every compressed air blast. Consequently, the perfect obturation translates directly into a stable trajectory with razor-sharp accuracy and maximum energy transfer downrange. When taking a critical shot, you need ammunition you can trust, and this slug’s aerodynamic profile provides exactly that reliability. Moreover, its precise 11.6mm diameter guarantees a consistent fit for superior shot-to-shot consistency.

Formidable Power for Hunting and Precision

The .457 caliber platform offers approximately 2.5 times the frontal area of a .30 caliber projectile, which creates massive wound channels and devastating energy transfer on impact. At 155 grains, this slug provides exceptional sectional density, making it a formidable choice for deer-sized game and large predators where deep penetration is essential. With an optimal velocity range of 750-850 fps, these slugs produce 200-260 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and reach effective hunting ranges of 100 yards or more. This power approaches centerfire rifle performance and therefore demands the same level of respect and shot placement discipline. For the ethical hunter, this translates into cleaner kills and greater confidence in the field.

Compatibility and Tuning for Your Rifle

The TPP Hollow Skirt Ball works with powerful PCP air rifles operating at 300 joules and above, including high-end platforms like the AEA Zeus and Seneca Dragon Claw. However, proper tuning is essential to unlock its full potential, so we recommend a regulator pressure of 200-250 bar with a barrel twist rate around 1:16. Furthermore, a minimum barrel length of 24 inches helps achieve optimal velocities, and we suggest using chronograph testing to fine-tune your pressure settings. By doing so, you will ensure consistent muzzle velocity with a tight extreme spread. Ultimately, this attention to detail transforms your rifle into a precision hunting tool.
